Mrs. Mary Talevich, 5J’s homeroom teacher has been teaching at SLS since 1990 spending nine years in second grade and then moving to fifth. Mrs. T. teaches Social Studies to all of the fifth graders, while Mr. Mike Fuerte (5I’s homeroom teacher) teaches Science to the crew.
Mrs. Talevich graduated from Gonzaga University with English and elementary ed degrees, completed her fifth year at Seattle University, and received her M.Ed in curriculum and instruction from City University. She loves her job teaching in a Catholic school. It is important to her that the classroom community can grow in God’s love, praying together, sharing faith, and helping others. She enjoys 5th grade’s curriculum, too. The overnight to Pioneer Farm and the service opportunities such as Safety Patrol and supporting NPH orphanages add wonderful dimensions to classroom life. She feels so fortunate to spend her days with lively, generous fifth graders who keep her young at heart.
Mrs. Talevich and her husband, Tim, live in North Bend at the bottom of Mount Si where they enjoy many outdoor activities. Oldest son, Pete graduated from Seattle U Law. Middle son, Daniel, is teaching special education on Oahu. And youngest son, Andrew, is a senior at WSU. All three sons are St. Louise graduates.
