"But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of these does now know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all humankind." (Job 12:7-10)

Mrs. Patterson returned to teaching 6th grade at St. Louise last year. Paula graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in English and Speech Communication. Her prior teaching experiences include a junior high in Port Orchard, sixth grade at St. Louise and a middle school in Fall City. While “taking a break” from teaching, Paula has enjoyed spending time raising her three children, teaching religious education at her parish, directing CYO summer camp, and coaching speech and soccer at St. Louise. Paula and her husband, Jay, live in Carnation with their children, Jimmy, who is a St. Louise alum, and current St. Louise students, Amy and Kelly. In her spare time she enjoys reading, taking walks, skiing, baking, playing soccer and going on adventures with her family.

"Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you." (Philippians 4: 8-9)
