O, Sunflower, sunflower

I wish I could be you.

 Art Philosophy

Every individual has an innate artistic ability.  The visual art program is designed to continually enhance the skills of observation, conceptual knowledge, experimentation, exploration, creativity, and critical thinking while igniting the artist within.  Visual arts can evoke different reactions, stimulate the imagination, foster positive self-esteem, and encourage self expression.  The art curriculum will introduce a basic visual vocabulary, stimulate visual awareness, and present students different artists, styles, and cultures which will cultivate a richer foundation of learning.  Art is a continual reflective practice where artists are challenged to explore deeper levels of thinking, contemplation, and broadened perceptions of the world in which an individual lives. Art gives students the opportunity to experience, embrace, and appreciate the beauty of God’s creation.
