Mrs. Carson has enjoyed being the St. Louise school librarian since 1990. Her youngest son had just entered kindergarten, when she was employed for a half time position. Over the years, the library curriculum added junior high classes, a longer 6th grade library class, and 2 afternoon kindergarten classes, and her position is now full time.
Mrs. Carson received a B.A. in English Literature from California State University, Fresno. She received a Master in Librarianship from the University of Washington. Her 45 credits past the MA have focused on Internet research and technology classes, children’s literature and young adult literature.
Library Volunteers: Mrs. Carson feels very fortunate in having a dedicated and expert group of library volunteers. New volunteers come forth every year, and veteran volunteers return. The new volunteers bring a fresh face and enthusiasm to the library, and her returning volunteers bring their knowledge of the students and the library collection. They are indeed her clerical and library assistant staff. | |
